Buffalo is a small, rural town in the northwestern part of the state and serves as the county seat of Harper County. It is situated at the intersection of US Routes 64 & 183 near the Kansas state line. Known for its history and agricultural roots, the town was established in 1907 and is often called "the original stone city" because early founders required downtown buildings to be constructed of stone.
